Nicomekl Riverfront Park

NicomeklRiverfrontParkgrasses

Surrey is planning a new riverfront park on the south side of the Nicomekl River in South Surrey. We are in the process of acquiring the last few pieces of parkland that will eventually form an approximately 3km riverfront connection.

This 3km linear park extends from Elgin Rd to 40th Ave along the south side of the Nicomekl River and includes two large park spaces located at: 1) 3652 Elgin Road/14391 Crescent Road, and 2) 3600 King George Boulevard.

Park Goals

One of the longest and most unique parks in Surrey, the Nicomekl Riverfront Park will:

  • protect habitat and sensitive ecosystems,
  • offer public access to the river,
  • encourage non-motorized recreational boating on waterways,
  • showcase public art,
  • capture/represent historical heritage moments, and
  • respond to climate change issues.
