South Surrey Athletic Park

South Surrey Athletic Park

South Surrey Athletic Park is a large community-level athletic park with fun options for kids, youth and families.

Park Features

This park offers facilities for soccer, football, rugby, baseball, tennis and volleyball. The park also features a variety of pathways and walking loops, a BMX bike park, playground and waterpark.

The entire athletic complex is located adjacent to the Sunnyside Acres Urban Forest.

You'll also find venues for indoor sports in the gyms at South Surrey Recreation Centre and at the rinks at South Surrey Arena.

After a game, young people can meet up at the South Surrey Youth Lounge for events like DJ nights and the popular preteen dances.

Picnic Shelters

There are 2 picnic shelters in this park, available on a first-come, first-serve basis, located at the bike park and at the Rotary playground.

If you’re having a picnic or hosting an event in a Surrey park please review the Park Activity Guidelines.

South Surrey Bike Park

As the first official bike park in Surrey, the South Surrey Bike Park offers an excellent trail network for beginners all the way to advanced riders.

With dirt jumps and a pump track area, the popular outdoor recreation facility has held BC Cup cross country races and cyclo-cross events featuring Olympians Geoff Kabush, Catharine Pendrel and Emily Batty.

Coastal Football Club Covered Practice Facility

Partnering with the City, the Coastal Football Club developed a covered practice facility at South Surrey Athletic Park. The facility has an artificial turf surface with perimeter walking path. Coastal FC funded the capital construction cost and operates the facility, while the City provided the land.

The facility is located directly east of Softball City. A public open house was held to allow interested residents to comment on the project. Take a look at the boards that were presented.

Water Spray Park and Playground Expansion

A new water spray park and expanded playground are located next to the Rotary fieldhouse. This work was completed as part of a park improvement project that involved revitalizing the central amenity area, adding a new picnic area and trees, improving traffic flow and parking, realigning Rotary Way, and upgading lighting.

The approved concept plan was supported by a community engagement process, including stakeholder workshops and a public open house. View the related information boards.

Park Improvement Project

The Parks Division is currently coordinating the development of a new Rugby Fieldhouse and pickleball courts.
