Surrey Civic Treasure Award

The Surrey Civic Treasure Award program recognizes and celebrates Surrey’s highest achievers in the cultural sector. The program:

  • Honours and celebrates individuals who contribute in a significant manner to the cultural sector of Surrey.
  • Generates greater awareness, interest, and support for the arts and heritage.
  • Promotes cross cultural sharing and builds awareness, understanding, and community pride.
  • Enhances the profile of the City of Surrey by demonstrating its commitment to advancing cultural development.
  • Demonstrates that Surrey values arts and heritage, and those people who dedicate their lives to this area.
  • Profiles Surrey as a creative cultural centre and encourages tourism.

The 2018 nominations are being received until Friday, April 27.

If you would like to nominate someone please review the criteria and list of required documents.

Nominees should meet the following criteria

  • Be a Surrey resident, born in Surrey or have a strong connection to the City of Surrey.
  • Demonstrate excellence and contribute significantly to the appreciation and development of culture in Surrey.
  • Reflect the unique character and history of the City.
  • Represent a significant achievement in the arts, heritage, cultural industries, cultural tourism, multiculturalism or related advocacy and philanthropy.

To submit a nomination

  1. Provide a written submission of approximately 300 words to describe the nominee and outline their accomplishments and contributions to the development and promotion of:
    • arts
    • heritage
    • cultural industries
    • cultural tourism
    • multiculturalism
    • related advocacy and philanthropy in Surrey
  2. Provide references to other individuals who may be able to provide further support to this nomination.
  3. Provide the name, address and contact information for the nominee, and include your name and contact information.
